GRIT MENTOR PROGRAM

FB_IMG_1776187607327_edited_edited.jpg

Developing skilled tradespeople into trained GRIT Mentors.

PURPOSE

Our GRIT Mentor program gives an effective pathway for GRIT Camp hosts and skilled tradespeople to connect. Hosts can browse certified GRIT mentors in their area and contact them directly to invite them to mentor at their GRIT Camp.

Chris Cochrane, owner of Fat Boys HVAC in Bullard, Texas, shares his experience as a GRIT Mentor and reflects on the impact of the role.

Stepping into mentorship can feel intimidating at first, especially when it falls outside of typical day-to-day responsibilities, but that is exactly what the GRIT Foundation is designed to support. Our mission is to turn the passion and expertise of tradespeople into meaningful mentorship opportunities for the next generation.

The GRIT Foundation has worked directly with the SkillCat team to provide all mentors, as well as any tradespeople interested in learning, with an in-depth training course built around our teaching methods. Ty Branaman guides participants through each module, explaining the Socratic Method and how to teach through guided questioning.
