A place to start
The Navigator helps you explore work you might enjoy. It does not test your skills or who you are as a person. It cannot tell how well you will do in a job. We made it for young people ages 13–22. It uses six types of interests from the Kalos Career Navigator.
How it works
Start with 18 everyday questions or go straight to the pictures. There are three picture questions, some words to choose from, and questions about how you like to work. Skip anything. You can answer more questions later.
Your results show careers you can start without college. You may still need training or an apprenticeship, where you learn on the job. Some jobs need a license or a certificate to show your skills. Ask what you need to get started. This tool has not been tested as a way to prove which career fits you.
Your answers and the AI
You do not need an account, name, school or work history. The answers on this page clear when you close or refresh the tab.
Once you rate a task and open results, your choices go to our online service run on Amazon Web Services (AWS). It uses your answers, pictures and words to choose a trade. Your work choices help it add job details. AI helps write part of the report. The AI model gets the first job’s tasks and broad clues about what you like. It does not get your raw answers, pictures, words or work choices. It does not get your name, email or comments. AI can make mistakes.
We do not save your answers or reports. Taking the quiz or emailing your report does not add you to a mailing list. We keep short-term counts of requests to help block spam. The extra questions that compare two tasks stay separate from your scores. Your work choices help explain your results but do not change the job order.
Extra choices about leading, teaching and your workday do not go to AI. Choose Add to this report to keep them in your print, download or email copy. Choices you have not added are left out.
GRIT camps and getting involved
If you choose a signup, ActiveCampaign gets the name and email you enter, your signup choice, and its usual form records. It does not get your quiz answers or report. Check your inbox to confirm your signup. You can unsubscribe from GRIT updates at any time. If you are under 13, ask a parent or guardian to sign up with their own email.
Your comments
You can leave a comment if you want. If you agree and press Send, we save it and the tool version for our team to read in private. We do not attach your answers, report or email. Comments are set to be deleted after 90 days. They are not public or sent to AI. Sending a comment does not train the AI model.
The quick check for yourself stays in this tab. It is not sent with the AI or email request.
Keeping a copy
Print or download your results before you leave. Copy tool link shares the website address only. It does not share your answers.
Email is your choice. If you ask for a copy, our email service gets your address and report choices to make and send it. The copy has your AI ideas, if ready, and any extra choices you added. The service may keep records of sent mail. Your inbox keeps the report.
On a shared device, choose Clear my answers when you finish.
