Effective September 18, 2026. GRIT Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit helping young people explore the skilled trades. This policy describes information handled through our website, online store, inquiries and program signups. A notice shown with a particular tool or registration explains any more specific practices for that activity.

Information you provide
We receive the information you choose to submit, such as your name, email, telephone number, address, organization, program interests, application details, messages and attachments. Store orders include billing and delivery information, products ordered, payment status and support records. Donation and registration services may collect additional information described on their forms. Submit information about another person only when you have authority to do so.
Information collected when you visit
Our website and its providers receive technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referral information, request times and security logs. Cookies and similar technologies support carts, checkout, login sessions, forms, site measurement and embedded services. The site uses Google tag technology and ActiveCampaign forms. Embedded videos, payment tools and other third-party content can receive information when loaded or used.
You can manage cookies through your browser and the privacy controls offered by the relevant provider. Blocking cookies or scripts can affect checkout and other features. For Google services, see Google’s privacy policy and controls. This policy does not mean that every optional service runs on every page.
Why we use information
We use information to answer requests; arrange and support GRIT programs; connect interested mentors, hosts and partners; process donations and merchandise orders; send requested updates; operate and improve the website; prevent abuse; and meet accounting, safety and legal obligations. Newsletter and promotional messages are separate from necessary order, registration or support messages. You can unsubscribe from promotional messages using the message’s link or by contacting us.
Providers, partners and public information
The store uses WooCommerce and WooPayments, together with the payment or digital-wallet provider you select. Printify, its print providers and shipping carriers receive the information needed to make and deliver your order. Hosting, email, tax-calculation and security providers also process information needed for their services. See Automattic’s privacy policy for its services.
GRIT uses ActiveCampaign for newsletter and interest forms, Jotform for applications, and Givebutter for linked donation services. Training may be offered through SkillCat. Their forms and services have their own notices and terms. We may share relevant information with the GRIT team and the organizers involved in a program or request you choose. Website network profiles, host listings and information identified as public are visible to other visitors; contact us to request a correction or removal.
We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect people, our services and legal rights. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries. We do not give a service provider permission to use information for an unrelated purpose simply because it helps operate a GRIT service.
Young people and the Career Navigator
Young people are central to GRIT’s mission. Parents or guardians should handle purchases and submissions of personal information for children under 13. Do not submit a child’s personal or sensitive information through a general contact or newsletter form. Use the relevant program registration process and its parent or guardian permissions. Contact us if you believe a child’s information has been submitted improperly so we can review and address it.
The Career Navigator is designed for ages 13–22 and has its own “About & privacy” notice. It can be used without a name or account. That notice explains the use of AWS and AI, optional report email and signups, and the different handling of answers, reports and optional comments. Its specific privacy commitments continue to apply; this general policy does not expand how Navigator data is used.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, including completing orders and programs, responding to requests, resolving disputes and meeting recordkeeping obligations. The appropriate period depends on the record, applicable requirements and any shorter period stated in a specific tool’s notice. Records subject to legal obligations may need to be kept after a deletion request. No website, email system or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and requests
Contact us to request access, correction or deletion, or to ask about information sharing and other privacy choices. Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights to obtain a portable copy, opt out of specified processing, use an authorized agent, or appeal a request decision. We may verify identity and authority and may retain information needed for legal, accounting, security or dispute purposes. We will explain a denial and any applicable appeal process. Exercising an applicable privacy right will not result in unlawful discrimination.
Other websites and policy updates
Links to other organizations, social networks and service providers take you to services with their own practices. Review their notices before providing information. We will post updates to this policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required. Changes will not override an existing, more protective promise for information already collected without the notice or permission required by law.
